Peace & Light Henna Gods & Goddess,
This post is all about the Fruit gel & Henna stain, before and aftercare! If you're new to this world of the fruit gel or henna, or just wanting to freshen up your knowledge before booking an appointment with us, I highly recommend taking the time to learn about each of our products so you can make the best decision possible for your needs. The fruit gel and Natural Henna not only have very different stains, but they also require different aftercare (ex: drying time, what to wear, how far out to book event…etc.) to get the darkest and longest lasting stains.

-
Genipa is a citrus fruit, so it's not recommended to use if you have citrus allergies.
-
The gel dry time varies depending on design size.(1-3 hours)
-
The longer you keep the fruit gel on, the darker the stain will be.
-
It's recommended to leave gel on for 4-6 hrs. minimum.
-
Wash off the fruit gel thoroughly with warm water and soap after it completely peels.
-
The fruit gel stains extremely quick, so you have to be very careful!
-
DO NOT: Touch, smear, or sleep with design (if sleep use a sock).
-
CAUTION: It will stain anything it touches before you wash it off.
-
On some individuals, when fresh Genipa body art is exposed to heat within the first 48 hours, it can actually lead to a reaction.
-
In the event that you have a bad reaction to the fruit gel, you can use hydrocortisone or any other natural remedy to relieve the itchiness which is usually not severe.

Henna AFTER CARE
-
Stay warm~henna
-
Heat keeps the henna from drying out and allows it to penetrate your skin better. Stay warm with layering clothes, getting some sunlight, or applying direct heat. Henna is a natural sunblock and will create an inverse tan of design.
-
Heat up cloves in a pan or boil them in water, and place exposed design above the steam or smoke for 30 seconds at a time. Take breaks as needed if it gets too hot and be cautious of melting the henna. Typically used for hands, and no more than a few minutes.
-
Once the henna or jagua is removed, apply after care body lotion, or on the go oil to the design. Applying after care body lotion, or on the go oil before showering or going to the beach/pool will help repel water as well.
-
Aftercare spray is recommended!
